(1) NIU students enrolling in the general education courses at Summer College will have their credits and grades (pass or fail) recorded in the Fall Semester of 2026. Students who are expected to graduate in the Spring Semester of 2026 are advised not to enroll. In addition, in accordance with NIU’s Inter-University course selection regulations, the number of credits that may be taken at other universities a semester may not exceed one-third of the total credits taken at NIU in the same semester (this restriction does not apply to students with extended study periods).
(2) For detailed information on the required credits for general education elective courses, please refer to Center for General Education website.
(3) Before signing up, please double-check whether the course can be transferred to NIU’s general education electives in terms of required categories and credits.
