2026 Summer College "Thinking with Your Hands" Essay Competition Guidelines

I. Purpose
This competition encourages students to reflect on their learning experiences and create a lasting record through the art of writing. By sharing students' perspectives, we aim to pass down valuable experiences and motivate others to enroll in Summer College courses. Furthermore, it provides organizers, instructors, and teaching assistants with student feedback to foster a positive cycle of continuous improvement.
II. Organizer
National Summer College (hereinafter referred to as "the Organizer").
III. Important Dates
Submission Deadline: Ends at 23:59, September 13, 2026 (Sun).
Results Announcement: Results will be announced in early November.
IV. Submission Requirements
Eligibility: Students enrolled in any 2026 National Summer College courses.
Theme: Participants may choose their own title. Content should focus on experience sharing and reflections from this year's Summer College.
Format: Open style. Maximum 2,000 Chinese characters. Submissions must be in Word format (PDFs not accepted), A4 size, with a horizontal layout.
Submission Method: Submit the entry form and your work electronically to n2summerntu@gmail.com within the deadline.

Judging Process: A two-stage review (Preliminary and Final) will be conducted via anonymous review by a panel of internal and external experts.
Awards: The top three places and several Honorable Mentions will be awarded:
1st Prize: NT$5,000 Scholarship per person
2nd Prize: NT$3,000 Scholarship per person
3rd Prize: NT$2,000 Scholarship per person
Honorable Mention: NT$1,000 Scholarship per person
V. Important Notices
Each person is limited to one entry.
All entries (including those that do not meet specifications) will not be returned. Please keep your own copies.
Works must be original and unpublished (in print, media, or online) and must not have been entered in other competitions. Plagiarism or ghostwriting is strictly prohibited.
Works must not violate copyright or any other legal rights.
In case of violation, the Organizer reserves the right to disqualify the participant and rescind any awards. The participant shall be legally responsible for any infringement.
The Organizer reserves the right to promote, preserve, and authorize the reproduction of winning works in any form (e.g., digitization, website posting, CDs, audio publications, etc.) without additional payment or royalties. Authors retain their intellectual property rights. Please do not submit if you do not wish your work to be made public.
The Organizer reserves the right to adjust the number of prizes or leave prizes vacant based on the quality of submissions.
The Organizer reserves the right of final interpretation and decision for any matters not covered herein.
