[Sharing] International Forum and Exhibition on Higher Education – Educating for the Future: Learning in a Transforming World

Hello everyone, the Office of Future University Project at National Taiwan University, the Precision Health Industry Interdisciplinary Talent Cultivation Program, the Joint Education Center, and the Office of the National Key Areas International Cooperation Alliance for Innovative Curriculum and Talent Cultivation Program are jointly hosting the International Forum and Exhibition on Higher Education – Educating for the Future: Learning in a Transforming World. This forum will provide an opportunity for exchange with international scholars and leading figures in higher education from across Taiwan, showcasing the achievements of various projects and units at National Taiwan University and exploring future trends in higher education. Details are as follows:

The keynote speech at this forum, titled "Educating Interdisciplinary Talent in the Age of AI," will be delivered by Danny Bielik, Chair of the Digital Education Council. He will share insights on how higher education can respond to the challenges and opportunities presented by AI and explore new directions for cultivating interdisciplinary skills. During the panel discussion, the speaker and attendees will have the opportunity to collaboratively discuss future trends in higher education.

The afternoon session consisted of four sub-sessions, with the themes of "AI in Higher Education" and "Cultivating Interdisciplinary Talents."

The first panel discussion on "AI in Higher Education" featured Associate Professor Seng Chee Tan from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, and Professor Tsai Tsung-Han from National Central University, who shared their insights on higher education and talent development in the AI ​​era. The second panel discussion featured Assistant Professor Chen Yen-Pin from the Department of Statistics at National Taiwan University, Professor Lee Chih-Hsin from the University of Washington, Associate Professor Lan Chun-Hung from the Department of Industrial Engineering at National Taiwan University, Chris M. Anson Distinguished Professor from North Carolina State University, and Project Lecturer Ko Kai-Wen from the Writing Center at National Taiwan University, who shared their perspectives on the impact of AI on various disciplines within higher education.

The first seminar on "Cultivating Cross-Disciplinary Talent" invited Professors Hung I-Ping, Yu Chia-Pin, Shen Li-Chuan, and Chen Hui-Mei from National Taiwan University to share their practices in cultivating cross-disciplinary talent in the precision health industry. The second seminar invited Associate Professor Su Mei-Yin from the Department of Physical Education at National Taiwan University, Professor Cheng Wen-Tsai-Hung from the Department of Demography, Associate Professor Tsai Cho-Yu from Binghamton University, Professor Maximilian Kleinert from the University of Potsdam, President Harada Munehiko from Osaka University of Physical Education, and Distinguished Professor Greg William Misiaszek from Tohoku University to share their insights on learner-centered interdisciplinary learning.

 

In addition, we have specially invited representatives from NTU's Future University Project, the Precision Health Industry Interdisciplinary Talent Cultivation Project, and the Digital Learning Center to jointly host an exhibition at noon, showcasing our school's teaching innovations and XR interdisciplinary teaching achievements.
