Article 1: Purpose The National Summer College (hereinafter referred to as "the NSC") has established these regulations to encourage outstanding Teaching Assistants (TAs), recognize their teaching passion and skills, improve the quality of TAs across all partner and host universities, and build a comprehensive inter-collegiate cooperation mechanism for TAs.

Article 2: Selection Committee The NSC shall establish the "Outstanding Teaching Assistant Selection Committee" (hereinafter referred to as "the Committee") to select awardees. The Committee is composed as follows:

(i) The CEO of the NSC shall serve as an ex-officio member.

(ii) 1 to 2 Faculty Representatives: Nominated from instructors who have previously received Teaching Excellence or Distinguished Teaching Awards at their respective universities, and appointed by the CEO of the NSC.

(iii) 1 to 2 Senior Outstanding TA Representatives: Nominated from TAs who have previously demonstrated exceptional performance at partner or host universities, and appointed by the CEO of the NSC.

(iv) The CEO of the NSC shall serve as the Chairperson and Convener. The Committee shall meet after the conclusion of each summer term. To ensure impartiality, faculty members whose current courses are assigned TAs shall not serve as Faculty Representatives. Ex-officio members with assigned TAs may participate in discussions but not in scoring. Current TAs are also ineligible for Committee membership.

Article 3: Selection Procedures The selection process consists of the following stages:

Stage 1: Preliminary Selection (NSC Review) Candidates are selected based on student teaching evaluations, instructor evaluations, and letters of recommendation. Candidates must meet the following criteria:

(1) Must be certified by attending the NSC Teaching Assistant Workshop.

(2) More than half of the students in their assigned course must have completed the TA teaching evaluation.

(3) Must be "highly recommended" or "recommended" for selection by the course instructor.

(4) Meet any other preliminary conditions determined by the Committee.

Stage 2: Final Selection (Committee Review) The Committee will conduct a secondary review of candidates based on Stage 1 results. Scoring is based on student comments, supplementary instructor evaluations, work logs, reflection reports, and other supporting materials. Winners are determined by their final ranking.

Quotas: The number of winners is categorized by course type and generally capped at 10% of the total number of TAs in each category.

Article 4: Recognition and Rewards Recipients of the Outstanding Teaching Assistant Award will be publicly honored by the NSC and awarded a certificate and a prize of NT$5,000.

Article 5: Distinguished Honors TAs who win the "Outstanding Teaching Assistant" award three times will be granted the title of "Excellence Teaching Assistant." Those who achieve this "Excellence" status twice will receive a prize of NT$20,000 and will no longer be eligible for future nominations.

Article 6: Implementation These regulations shall take effect upon approval by the NSC Working Group and shall be implemented from the date of publication.
